Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates?

I try to be as fair and flexible as possible with my rates to avoid the stress that comes with budgeting for a record. My only requirement is working at a day rate (8-10 hours) instead of hourly. Attended mixing is the same rate as recording but I also offer a per song or album rate for remote mixing. The cost of making a record depends on a variety of factors and each project is unique so please contact me with details about your project and we can discuss specifics.

How far in advance to do book?

My schedule changes on a weekly basis so there are times when Iā€™m available with short notice, but typically a month or two in advance is best.

Do you master as well?

No, I recommend hiring a dedicated mastering engineer. There are several engineers I have a working relationship with and can refer if needed.

Where do you record and mix?

The Tractor Shed Studio in Goodlettsville (20 minutes north of Nashville) is where I have the majority of my equipment and is my preferred recording studio. For remote mixing I often work from home. Other studios in Nashville I enjoy recording at are Sound Emporium, Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa, and Compass Records.
